Standing Firm in Faith: Embracing Resilience and Courage

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
~ 1 Corinthians 16:13 ~

The time has come for us to stand a little taller, to lift our eyes and stretch our minds to a greater comprehension and understanding of the grand millennial mission of this The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is a season to be strong. It is time to move forward without hesitation, knowing well the meaning, the breadth, and the importance of our mission. It is a time to do what is right regardless of the consequences that might follow. We have nothing to fear. God is at the helm. He will overrule for the good of the work.

~ Gordon B. Hinckley - Stand a Little Taller - Counsel and Inspiration for Each Day of the Year ~

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to be strong, standing firm in faith, embracing resilience, and acting courageously. This season challenges us to move forward without hesitation, fully comprehending the importance of our mission. By grounding our faith in daily scripture study and emulating Christ's resilience, we become beacons of hope and guidance.

As followers of Jesus Christ, it is our season to be strong. Embracing resilience, strength, and unwavering faith, we are called to stand firm and act courageously, rooted in the scriptures and the example of Christ. In a society challenging moral values, we must stand taller against immorality, spreading light and kindness. Living a mindful Christian life deepens our faith and allows us to minister effectively. By committing to stand a little taller, bold and resilient in our faith, we bring light and truth to the world, serving as a beacon of hope and guidance for those seeking refuge in God’s kingdom.

Standing a little taller today involves embracing resilience, strength, and unwavering faith. As 1 Corinthians 16:13 reminds us, "Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong." This call to stand firm and act courageously is timeless, urging us to be responsible and take initiative through our faith in God.

Today, more than ever, is a season to be strong. It's a time to move forward without hesitation, fully understanding the importance of our mission as followers of Jesus Christ. As President Gordon B. Hinckley encouraged, we are called to stand a little taller in our faith and testimony of Jesus Christ.

To stand taller, we must ground our faith in personal revelation of who Jesus Christ is. This understanding comes through daily scripture study that testifies of Christ’s mission, ministry, death, resurrection, and his divine purpose. By immersing ourselves in the scriptures, we gain knowledge and confidence in our beliefs, which fortifies our faith and helps us stand firm even in challenging times.

Christ is the ultimate example of resilience and faith. He faced ridicule and abandonment with unwavering determination. In the same way, our faith grows and matures through enduring personal struggles and societal commotion, much like the challenges we are currently experiencing.

In today’s society, where subjective morality and attacks on religious freedom are prevalent, we must stand taller against immorality. We must be the light of truth and show the love and kindness that Christ exemplified. By living out the gospel principles in our daily lives—whether at work, home, church, or in our communities—we bring comfort and wisdom to those in need.

Living a mindful crucified Christian life as a Latter-day Saint has blessed me with a deepened faith and understanding. It has taught me to let the light of Christ shine through my actions and attitude. As we stand taller in our faith, we strengthen our testimony, align our hearts with God's will, and receive His wisdom daily. This courageous and resilient faith brings extraordinary joy and allows us to minister effectively to others.

Let us commit to standing a little taller today, being bold and resilient in our faith, and emulating Christ in all our actions. Through this, we bring light and truth to the world, serving as a beacon of hope and guidance for those seeking refuge and sanctuary in God’s kingdom.
